The physical body was made to move. There are so many benefits and essential components of movement and physical activity (as seen below). Many people dread even the thought of ‘exercise, ’ and things like treadmills, elliptical machines, and cardio activity come to mind but, there are many different ways to ‘exercise.’ Cardiovascular activity is most often known as the only form of ‘exercise’ but, this is just one kind of beneficial movement. Rest and recovery between times of intense physical activity are just as important as the movement itself. Stretching, weight training, flexibility, and balance are all important kinds of movement that aid the human body in functioning properly. It has been said that the best kind of ‘exercise,’ is the ‘exercise’ that you will do. There are times that you need to push and make your body do what it needs to do when you don’t ‘feel’ like it but, if you can find a source of movement that you enjoy, you are more likely to stick with a consistent plan than if you do something that you despise.
